NIGHT TIME EXODUS (Isabel's Character Monologue) I gaze down at you, my lover This moonlit face beside me And I wonder, as I ponder my exodus, from this- love affair Do you see it? Are they there? These ugly imperfections Does it matter? I am just scanning this near-love?s existence For just one mistake, that would justify my desire for departure. As if my desire for departure was not good enough? How I long to be With myself again! by myself again! Alone again This incessant longing to be free! (trapped) Makes me want to bulldoze this shack disguised as some high-end manor-ed house of false luxury To remain - to stay in this wreckage affair I can?t and... so... I ... I leave you now, and with me, I take my heart that had left long ago Dearest soul, know that I will remember you, when I rediscover old photos of us, tucked away in corners of neglected closets and on the bottoms of forgotten dresser drawers they will stir up memories of when our edifice once stood. And it is your moonlit face that I shall recall.
