Q: WHO IS THE VELVETLAND BAND?????

A: Who is The Velvetland Band?
It's true. When someone says the word "band" it typically suggests a plural existence, coming together to create music, but the truth is - it's just me. In my apartment. (to write this bit in the third person just felt silly and pompus.) So, that's me (below pic ala halloween 2006), Michele Kaplan. *wave* the "band".

The music of The Velvetland Band is ecclectic. Sometimes, it's a mix of jazz, sometimes hip-hop, classical, country, rock n' roll, swing- there are so many great types of music from the past and present that I love and that inspires me, I don't think I could ever commit to just one.

In the album, Anarchy 4eva - Jazz Hands is actually a war vet, who upon returning from the war back to Black Hills, just wasn't the same.
